Boston Marathon Virtual Volunteer Challenge
The Boston Marathon Virtual Experience would not be complete without volunteers, and we are excited to announce the inclusion of volunteers as part of the Boston Marathon Virtual Volunteer Challenge.
The Virtual Volunteer Challenge will consist of activities that can be done individually and safely to support Boston Marathon participants as well as the members of the greater community.
We encourage volunteers to select at least one activity from each section (Show your B.A.A. Pride and Give Back to your Community). Share your participation on social media using the hashtags #BAAGivesBack and #finishSTRONG
Show your B.A.A. Pride:
- Donate a Jacket: Elect to have your volunteer jacket donated to organizations serving on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The B.A.A. will coordinate deliveries of jackets to a variety of local area hospitals and relief organizations.
- Support virtual Boston Marathon participants by submitting photos and videos to cheer them on (more details to come on how to submit photos/videos).
- Get Active: Run or walk 2.62 miles in your neighborhood in support of our virtual racers.
- Register to run or walk the 6th Annual Road to Wellness virtually! The Road to Wellness is put on by The Dimock Center, Hoodfit, and the B.A.A. Register here and run a 5K or walk a 2K by September 12.
- Share your volunteer experience on social media! Use #BAAGivesBack and #finishSTRONG to spread the word!
Give Back to your Community:
The organizations listed below are part of the Boston Marathon Official Charity Program. This list will continue to grow over the summer, so make sure to check back for updated activities.
