Boston Marathon Shadow Runs

*Note - We are no longer accepting "Shadow Run" applications for the 2019 Boston Marathon

• Since 2005, thousands of United States Armed Forces personnel stationed overseas have participated in “shadow” versions of the Boston Marathon, running the marathon distance on or around Patriots’ Day.
• Whether in Iraq, Afghanistan, or on a ship at sea, the B.A.A. has proudly provided Boston Marathon start and finish banners, bibs, tee shirts, medals, and finisher certificates for participants in these shadow marathons.
• If you would like to host a shadow run at a military base for a future Boston Marathon, please e-mail the B.A.A. at military@baa.org.
