YMCA of Greater Boston
PLEASE NOTE THAT YMCA OF GREATER BOSTON IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR 128TH BOSTON MARATHON TEAM.
Founded in 1851 as America’s first Y, the YMCA of Greater Boston strengthens the Greater Boston community through a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As one of the community’s leading nonprofits, we are dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving our community’s health and well-being, and providing opportunities to give back and support our neighbors. The YMCA of Greater Boston is dedicated to improving the health of mind, body, and spirit of individuals and families in our communities. We provide welcoming, belonging, and opportunity for all.
At the YMCA of Greater Boston, we believe in the power of investing in our youth, particularly during their teenage years. Our teen programs aim to provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where young individuals can develop important life skills, explore their interests, and build meaningful relationships. These programs encompass various areas such as education, career readiness, leadership development, and community engagement.
The funds raised through our participation in the Boston Marathon have played a significant role in sustaining and expanding these critical teen programs. They have allowed us to offer thousands of free teen memberships throughout the city, providing access to our facilities, mentoring programs, job training initiatives, college preparation resources, and recreational activities. By investing in our teens, we are investing in the future of our community.
