Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired
PLEASE NOTE THAT MASSACHUSETTS ASSOCIATION FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR 128TH BOSTON MARATHON TEAM.
The Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) is proud and honored to be a part of the Boston Athletic Association's Official Charity Program for the Boston Marathon. In 1903, Helen Keller and other Bostonians founded MABVI with the simple mission "to provide services that would enable blind people to live as independently as possible and as contributing and integrated members of society." Today, our programs teach strategies for independence, provide advocacy and resources for adjusting to vision loss, promote healthy living through innovative initiatives, expand assistive technology, and increase digital accessibility.
Team With A Vision (TWAV) has been raising visibility and critical funds for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired for over 25 years. Running with our team will be a rewarding and memorable experience, whether you are a charity runner, Boston Qualified in the Para Athletic Division or the Adaptive Programs, or Boston Qualified in the open division. In addition to being part of the tight-knit Team With A Vision community you will have access to:
- Personalized training program
- Personalized fundraising page and staff support
- Events and receptions
- Race day amenities
- Branded team apparel including team singlet
- Bragging rights that you have finished Boston while creating a better community for those living with vision loss and blindness
