Minds Matter

Minds Matter believes that no student’s dreams for college and career should be limited by their socio-economic status. For this reason, we empower every student to not only gain acceptance into, but to persist through and graduate from, a competitive four-year college and into a fulfilling career. We do so by providing a holistic, high-touch four-year program beginning in sophomore year of high school and continuing through freshman year of college. Our students receive standardized test prep, professional writing instruction, financial aid and scholarship coaching, and dedicated mentorship from two area volunteers. Each young person also receives a laptop, MBTA pass, and full tuition, room, and board for two on-campus college immersion summer programs. In our 20 year history, 100% of Minds Matter students have been accepted into college, and 98% have gone on to successfully graduate - compared with just 41% of high-achieving low-income students nationwide.
