The Children’s Room
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHILDREN'S ROOM IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THEIR 128TH BOSTON MARATHON TEAM.
The Children’s Room is a bereavement center in Arlington, Massachusetts, offering grief support for children and families, schools, and community organizations. The children we serve, ages 3 1⁄2 to 18, have had either a parent or a sibling die. Our services include peer support groups for children at our site and in schools and community centers, support and psycho-education groups for parents and caregivers, teen programs, and a monthly family night. Our services reflect the belief that grief is a normal response to a death loss. Groups and services for children and families are provided free of charge.
At The Children's Room, we believe that families and individuals are the experts of their own lives and can best determine their needs and goals. Each person's grief journey is unique. We are here to provide support and resources during that process and to facilitate meaningful connections for children, teens, and adults who have experienced the death of an immediate family member. Children and their families often tell us how powerful it is to know "I am not alone."
