All-new INFINITI QX50 is the official vehicle of the B.A.A. 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Boston Marathon
BOSTON – INFINITI and the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today proudly announced the beginning of a multi-year sponsorship agreement, naming INFINITI as the official automaker of the B.A.A.’s four premier running events – the Boston Marathon, B.A.A. 5K, B.A.A. 10K, and B.A.A. Half Marathon.
On Patriots’ Day, the 2019 INFINITI QX50 will lead the field of elite athletes from Hopkinton to Boston in the 122nd Boston Marathon. Supplying six vehicles to guide the various waves of the historic race is just the beginning, INFINITI will also provide lead vehicles for the B.A.A. Distance Medley including the B.A.A. 5K, B.A.A. 10K, and B.A.A. Half.
During the Boston Marathon Weekend, Copley Square will be home to an interactive lounge for visitors to the finish line area, and INFINITI will have display vehicles in Copley Square as well as other locations throughout the city. Creating a premium experience for race participants and fans alike, INFINITI will also host a VIP tent at Distance Medley events for those completing all three races.
“It’s immensely gratifying to team up with an award-winning brand like INFINITI,” said B.A.A. Chief Executive Officer, Tom Grilk. “We look forward to seeing their luxury vehicles take the right on Hereford and left onto Boylston Street as our champions make their way to the finish line. We are delighted to welcome INFINITI to our family of sponsors.”
INFINITI will have display vehicles in Boston’s Copley Square (near the Boston Marathon finish line), and in other locations throughout the city on Boston Marathon race weekend.
“The excitement that surrounds the Boston Marathon is remarkable—from the exceptional athleticism of each runner, to the chants and high fives from the fans who cheer them on with every step—is exactly the level of excitement we aim to deliver with each of our vehicles,” said Tedros Mengiste, East Region Vice President, INFINITI USA. “We are excited to be a part of this elite event and to have our all-new QX50 lead the marathoners to the finish line.”
The Boston Marathon is the oldest continuously run marathon in the world, spanning 122 years of history, and approximately 30,000 participants are registered for the 2018 Boston Marathon to be run on April 16.
